The Future's Bright!
Last night saw the first of Jiggered Ceilidh Band‘s gigs with our new line-up. It was a Burns’ Night ceilidh for Townhead Church (all proceeds going to Christian Aid), Newmilns and the place was packed with troops keen on ceilidhing the night away…
Highlights of the night:
-some fine dancing from the kids
-a solo from Bob “smiler” Dewar
-rendition of Willy Wassell by Elaine “I widnae gie a button for her” Smith
-address to the haggis by Stephen “thigh slapping” Dewar
-yummy haggis, neeps and tatties followed by tablet!
And to top it all, Emma was unveiled as the newest member of Jiggered- she slotted into the lineup seamlessly, sang beautifully, called the dances like a pro. At the end of the night, loads of folk came over to say how brilliant Jiggered sounded! Can’t wait to get back to it tonight.
