All Fired Up For Chinese New Year
The Barony Hall in Glasgow is a significant venue for the members of Jiggered. In this building, situated on The University of Strathclyde’s campus, we’ve achieved personal milestones (graduations), had several more stressful moments (exams) and been part of others' milestone moments as Jiggered.
Last weekend our return visit was to commemorate Chinese New Year and provide the ceilidh for an evening hosted by the Strathclyde Chinese Students & Scholars Association. Things kicked off with speeches and an energetic dragon dance to celebrate the year of the… dragon! A big moment for the dragon after 12 years of other less exciting creatures taking centre stage…
It might be one of the biggest dance floors in Glasgow, but this enthusiastic lot kept it packed - including many first time ceilidh’ers and some very talented kids who were showing the adults how it’s done!
We had a great night. Thanks for having us again, folks. Kung Hei Fat Choi!
