Greg Summers and Michelle McManus help SANDS
Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel was the venue for the annual SANDS charity ball. It’s the third year that Jiggered Ceilidh Band had helped out with this excellent charity (who help support bereaved parents when a baby dies).
The compere for the night was the outstanding Greg Summers who is without question the best event frontman we’ve come across and it was a pleasure to work with him again. Greg keeps every event ticking over effortlessly- he’s great at keeping guests amused with his banter and even parts of the evening which usually drag by were a lot of fun! Last time we worked with Greg he touted for business by carrying our banner stand around the dance floor (see this blog post) and he was again plugging our website throughout the night- “www.jiggered.com I love them and they’re Scottish”. Thanks Greg!
The meal at the Thistle was really nice and set us up for our two short ceilidh sets which sandwiched a 20-minute performance by former Pop Idol Michelle McManus who was playing at this fundraiser for the second year in a row (Michelle described Jiggered as “phenomenal”). Ewan got her autograph.
We wish SANDS all the best for the coming year- thanks to Linsay for booking us up again!
