Ayrshire FOLK night
We’ve played for loads of folk since 2002 but our latest ceilidh saw us perform for FOLK for the first time! “Friends of Loudoun Kirk” are a charity who exist to restore and maintain the partially ruined Loudoun Kirk, near Galston. They’ve been holding a ceilidh for years and years. This year, they’d asked Jiggered to provide the music and we were delighted to play for them at Galston Community Centre.
As usual, Ewan was on fine form on the drums and excelled in the raffle. Two prizes from £3 of raffle tickets. I’ll not say what he won in case that proves to be a Christmas pressie spolier alert for any of his friends/family!
A day off from ceilidhing (although the Smiths/Stirlings will be meeting up!) before we do a bit of recording on Monday night….watch this space!
Oh, and some feedback from our Friday ceilidh: “Sorry I didn’t get a chance to thank you for playing at our ceilidh, although Sandy did. I just personally wanted to say how much we all really enjoyed your music it was refreshingly modern and such a good standard. Guests commented on “how lovely the singing was” , “what a good voice your singer has ” and “what a great band you are”. The dances were great fun and there were a few which were new to us, which we all thoroughly enjoyed even those who got bamboozled by them. We would thoroughly recommend you to anyone looking for a ceilidh band. Thank you for making our night special and good luck in all your future bookings. Best wishes Pat”
